Voice
High quality voice via the Thuraya Satellite Network. The well designed, rugged handset delivers unparalleled quality with echo cancellation whilst maintaining an Ingress Protection rating of 55 making it one of the most rugged in the business! The handset supports SMS through its easy-to-use menu on a large colour LCD screen. The menu structure is very intuitive and user-friendly and all functions can be configured via the handset.                                                                                                            

Data
Full-duplex IP-based data communication capabilities through the Thuraya GmPRS technology. With 60kbps download capability you can easily stay connected with email, internet and basic data applications such as weather files, SCADA, and Telemetry.    

Tracking
Data communication capabilities, coupled with an onboard GPS receiver enable the unit to transmit such information as ship’s identity, ship’s position and date and time of the position necessary for Long Range Identification Tracking (LRIT) application that is increasingly made mandatory by many national maritime or fishery authorities.

Tracking and monitoring functions are user-configurable for fixed time interval or event-triggered operation. They can also be remotely triggered by the control service center. Two sets of panic buttons are available for emergency use.

 


When a panic button is activated, SATMATE i60 shall immediately send a pre-determined SOS message which includes the time-stamped GPS coordinates to a maximum of three preset contacts for emergency response.


SATMATE i60 is truly a robust, versatile and cost effective solution for medium-size to small fishing vessels, pleasure boats, patrol boats and any other sea vessels that need a combination of telephony and tracking functions.



Passive Antenna

The omni-direction passive antenna is designed for vehicle mount installations as well as some marine installs. The antenna is very small and discreet and offers dual-band Thuraya & GPS. The unit is made from new technology plastics that are extremely rugged whist maintaining optimum performance. This antenna is suitable for vehicular, caravan, and vessel mounting. The only limitation is the maximum cable length that can be used with this antenna is 5m. If longer cable Lengths are required, the Active antenna must be used.

Active Antenna

The omni-directional active antenna offers high performance for all applications and is able to cope with cable runs up to 40m! The dual amplifiers in this exceptional antenna ensure quality performance anywhere under the satellite footprint. The antenna is designed to withstand extreme environmental conditions as sea, and will maintain excellent signal even in big seas.



Cable Options
The standard cable options for the passive active antennas are shown below, however the active antenna can support up to 40m cable lengths as optional. All non-standard cable lengths can be quoted separately and these will be according to strict specifications from the manufacturers on acceptable loss.
  • Passive antenna -ships standard with 5 meters of LMR400 cable (sat) and 5 meter GPS cable
  • Active antenna - ships standard with 12 meters of cable (sat) and 12 meter GPS cable
